Joining Roche as Data Scientist: From Research to Production AI

I am happy to share that in September 2025 I joined Roche in Madrid as a Data Scientist.
After my PhD and postdoc at the University of Murcia, followed by a year as Senior Researcher at Funditec working on applied ML/DL, cybersecurity and European and national research projects, this move takes me from research into production AI in a global healthcare company.
At Roche, I work on AI-based recommender systems for the Diagnostics business. The work covers the full modelling loop: candidate generation, ranking, feature pipelines over customer, product and sales data, and the versioning, monitoring and scheduled retraining needed to keep models reliable in production. The goal is to support sales teams worldwide and help identify new opportunities.
I will keep following the research areas I care about, such as trustworthy AI, federated learning and AI security. I am excited to apply what I learned during my research career to systems that people use every day.
